For the past months I have been creating photographs at the Kenwood Retirement facility on Cincinnati, Ohio.
This project required me to take exterior, interior and people photographs. I really love working with people but there are times when I like working out the lighting on interior photographs. It takes skill and experience to be able to balance all the lights, the windows and rooms to create images that the client can use for all their needs.
My client used these photographs for printed pieces, billboards and even in videos that aired in TV commercials. I was very lucky that the day we did the exterior photographs there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, just blue skies. The retirement facility has a memory floor and they have found that a dog is a great help to the people who have started to loose their memory. The photograph of the nurse with the dog was a candid photography but it was one of the best out of all the images I created.
But a retirement facility is all about how they can help the elderly people on a daily basis, so many of the photographs included people. People in the pool exercising, people eating in one of the many dining areas or using the exercise room. Kenwood retirement facility even has juke boxes so the residents can have a little fun.
One of the good things about a project like this is I get to use all my creative skills as a certified professional photographer. I get to work with professionals who needs quality photographs for all their public relations and marketing needs. These photographs help Kenwood Retirement facility create a warm and inviting image to the general public.
