Late Fall Outdoor Family Portraits

You might think it’s too late in the year to create an outdoor family portrait. The leaves are down. It’s getting colder outside. But it’s not too late for your family to get together for a family portrait. The holidays are a time when all the family gets together. There is no better time to have a portrait created by me, Dan Cleary. I have worked with families for many years and at various times of the year. Yes, everyone is in short sleeves in the summer, and it’s 80 degrees. But I can create a great family portrait right now. I have a coat and gloves. I don’t mind being outside this time of the year. Plus, I can go to your house and do a family portrait in your living room. We can even come to my portrait studio.

Powdered Painting Portraits

We have a big announcement here at Cleary Creative Portraits. We are now offering a new style of portraits. They are called Powdered Painting Photographs. These photographs can be produced from a studio portrait or a location portrait. This is a PhotoShop technique that allows me to be creative with individual portraits. This will make a beautiful wall portrait.

Outdoor Family Portrait Photography With The Family Dogs

Here is the last outdoor family portrait I have scheduled for this year. I did the photography for this family close to downtown Dayton along the Great Miami river. They brought their two energetic dogs who really loved the river bank. It’s a little late in the year and the leaves were gone but it’s still a beautiful setting. I had to use all my experience to get the dogs attention. Maybe someone will call for a family portrait in the snow this winter. Here at Cleary Creative Photography we always work with clients to come up exactly the photograph they desire. Dan has been creative family portraits in the Miami Valley area for over 28 years.

Young Family Portrait

Professional photographers are being challenged to post black & white images for consecutive 5 days. Here’s my first images. This is a young family that came in for baby and family portraits. They had a 3 month old and a 2 year old. Any professional photographer can tell you how challenging photographing a 2 year old can be. So I posed the Mom, Dad and baby, I have a one foot tall box that gets used for all sorts of things. I asked the little boy who was running around the studio to jump up on the box and look at his brother. I made three exposures and this one came out perfect. The Mom & Dad liked it so much that the purchased a 16×20 framed print. What a blessing to have this image displayed in their house for a long time to come.

Outdoor Family Portraits At Smith Garden In Oakwood Ohio

It’s Smith Garden’s 40th anniversary this year and the folks at Oakwood asked Dan to photograph families this summer and fall at Smith Garden. Dan have been using Smith Garden for many years photographing families in their great outdoor garden. We really appreciate how well maintained the garden is and the families I have photographed over the years have been some of my best work. How important is a family portrait?

I received a phone call like many I have had. “Hi, I would like to find out about a family portrait”. I like to find out as much information as possible about the family before they come in for a portraits. Who am I photographing? What are everyone’s age? Are there little kids, grandparents? The woman who called said her mother had breast cancer and she wanted a family portrait while she still felt good enough to come in. I was amazed how good the grandmother looked and how much love this family had for each other. We should all be this lucky to have a loving, extended family. Two sisters, with their children and their parents. I delivered the portraits as quickly as possible because I knew the Grandmother wasn’t doing well. When my client picked up the portraits she told me her mother was at Hospice and I felt very sad. Later that day she called me crying because she showed the portraits to her mother and everyone at hospice cried they looked so good. How important is a family portrait? These portraits are priceless. These are the kind of clients I love and these are the kind of families I love to work with.
